Columbia University Regular Decision

Thanks tawny! Yeah, I'm really enjoying my existential/surrealist course right now (Lit AP is okay, just very AP oriented). James Joyce was a very nice course for anyone who is interested in his works.

See, someone is also envious like I am for all your wonderful literature classes. I'm most interested in the class named "Studies on Existential and Surrealist Writers" :D

Hahah, yeah we read a lot of Sartre, Calmus, Nietzsche, Dada, Breton, Duchamp, Chirico, Heidegger etc. The class somewhat corresponds to my French Modern Literature, except we read their works in French :)

I've noticed that you're a very balanced applicant. You're interested in math and science, but also literature and music. Very cool! Your recommendation from the Columbia professor should carry a lot of weight. Good luck on Columbia.

Hey...you went to the Columbia High School Summer Program! So did I?

Just wondering, whats your name...I might know you...

I meant to say

So did I!

I didn't meant to ask it. Hahaaaa

Haha, okay i'll PM you

Like I said before, Columbia is a match for you. Just make sure you're a match for it :). I see you went to the summer program, so you should have a feel for how well you like it. Good luck!

Yeah, I really enjoyed my summer at Columbia, so it's definetly one of the colleges at the top of my list.

Here is an update that I sent to all my colleges:
-National Merit Finalist
- My science bowl team made regionals (so far) for the National Science Bowl Competition
- One of my music pieces was announced to be premiered Dresden 2006 - Sound, City, Silence composition competition (for piano trio).
- I was accepted to attend the Third International Workshop for Young Composers (rolling acceptance)
- Third prize for International de Composition pour Orchestre d'Harmonie (performance in June)
Hopefully it will help? :)

what did you do there?

-As a rising junior, I was in Columbia's Summer Program over the summer. I took the Biomedical Engineering class (very fun); my instructor wrote a very nice evaluation--he also wrote me an extra recommendation for Columbia

hey me tooo! frank ciulla was one of the instructors, right?

I had Clark Hung :). I think Frank Ciulla taught molecular biology course.

yup, sry misread the class you took.

hahha, yeah

I think your summer program will count for something. You look pretty solid for Columbia.

Yeah, the summer program was a great chance to experience life at Columbia. It was definitely a big change from my normal surroundings :).

Living in the city would be interesting

Yeah it would be. Any other comments?
