Columbia University Supplement Questions

For questions that ask you to “list,” what do I exactly have to do? For now, I wrote the title of the book followed by the name of an author in italics followed by the semi-colon and the title of next book.

Do I need to briefly elaborate why I chose to prefer that particular book or my experience reading the book? Or do I just leave the way it is now?

I am sort of a tech guy who loves programming. How do I tackle this question - List the titles of the films, concerts, shows, exhibits, lectures and other entertainments you enjoyed most in the past year.

I think you’ll get 2 answers on this. Some people will say they just listed the answers without further qualification and some were accepted like that and some people will say they explained briefly why they listed and some of these people will have been accepted as well.

@Dolemite Should I only list them? I am afraid.

You should do what you feel like doing - I don’t think you’ll be penalized either way.

If it helps, at CE^2 (a Columbia fly in program), a bunch of people asked this, and the admission officers said that you only need to list them.

I’ve submitted my Columbia Supplement Today.
