Anyone have any experiences or things to share?

How would you rate these 2 programs and their acceptance rates to medical school?

And how about Arts and Science compared to SEAS at these schools?

I, too, am interested in Penn's pre-med program... although my dilemma is between Georgetown and Penn.
What do you know about penn's pre-med, or ivy "top-notch" premed, for that matter? i mean, is it really worth the 44G for an undergraduate education? unless your family is loaded, its quite a bit of money to shell out.
what are your other options besides penn and columbia?

and P.S.--anyone know of Gtowns premed?

Penn has an 80% acceptance rate into med school. An admission officer once told me that as many as 800 incoming freshman are usually "pre-med". So, yes, there is ALOT of competition at Penn (or for that matter any ivy league). But, since so many students go to Penn as pre-med and most get into a med school, I would say Penn has an excellent pre-med program. I don't know, however, what kind of schools most of the penn graduates end up going to. Hope this helps.

Do a lot of freshmen just decide to not do the med school route along the way?

I'm sure there are a lot less than 800 freshmen who eventually applied to med school? Or is that wrong?

yea...if I remember correctly, about 200 end up actually applying to med school. That means 600 were weeded out!

wow!!

of those 800 and 200, how many were engineering majors?
and how many were accepted?

penn has a little less than an 80% accept rate
