when do hotel reservations usually need to be made?

I know families who reserve rooms once their kids get accepted to Cornell. I’m graduating next year; my parents are looking into getting stuff now and I’m pretty sure the statler is already booked.

Some discussion of the commencement lodging situation/ options were discussed in this thread:

We highly recommend Taughannock Farms Inn - around 20 minutes’ drive north of Ithaca (you will need a car). Website is here: [Taughannock Farms Inn](http://t-farms.com/) They start accepting reservations right after New Year’s of the calendar year of graduation, as I recall; we sent in our reservation and deposit only a month or so in advance (with a very small party - just the grad and his parents), and got our first choice of dates/times. Larger parties should probably make their requests much earlier.
