When we create an alternate version, we get a diff number thing. So what if our teacher recs are already sent in with the original number, you guys think it matters?

No, lots of schools have teachers write only one generic recommendation letter and then they copy it and send it to multiple common app schools. I don't think colleges rely on that number too much, as long as there is sufficient information to help them identify which student the rec belongs to.

If your name is unique enough then it does not matter. But you could put name of the teachers from your high school with the other ID number in the additional information. That is what DD plan to do.

I asked the exact same question to the web master, and the answer was
"Don't worry and go for it"

k how do you submit applications separately? i really need to know this so that i don't do something stupid and end up sending all the apps at the same time. that would NOT be pretty cuz I want to change my penn one a lil bit.

If you want to change something in one or more apps, you need to create a new version. There are instructions online about how to do a new version. It basically will copy your original app, but some items are left off - like the essay you uploaded. Then you have to go to "my colleges" and move the college so that it's associated with the right application version.

If you want the applications to be identical, but only want to submit them one at a time, that's easy. There are boxes to check when you are in the submit menu, so that it submits only to the schools you designated. Then you can submit the same app to other schools later.

thanks guys!!!

wait so in the signature page when you press submit a pop-up menu appears that u could choose which schools u submit 2?
