Common App done. Do I just send it in or wait for coaches?

I finished my Common App and applied to the three schools where the coaches asked me to apply to get an early read.
Haven't yet heard much from the coaches of other schools I am interested in.
What do I do?
Just apply to the other schools and tell the coaches I applied?
Tell the coaches I'm ready to apply and hold on until they tell me to do so?
Other suggestions?
The sport is football, so the recruiting goes way into January (and February).
I expect some of the other coaches will get more interested later on when they need to focus on filling the higher AI bands?
Thanks.

Have any of the coaches mentioned bringing you out for an Official Visit?

My thought would be to hold off on submitting any more Common Aps until you have a little more meaningful dialogue with the coaches and get a feel for where your best opportunities exist. In theory, once there is a high level of mutual interest - you can submit a single EA/ED app.

Would you attend those schools if you did not play football in college? If yes, go ahead and apply and then email the coach and let him know you sent in your application. If you are only interested in the school because of football, I would wait. The problem with waiting, and there is still time for this, is merit aid at some schools goes fast so if you are counting on that along with football applying early is better. It doesn’t have to be ED or even EA, just get your app in.

^^ I would agree that you should just apply if the applications are done and the fees arent horribly onerous. What I would also do is email the common app to all the coaches so they can see that you are actually academically viable.

OP, am I correct in assuming from your username that these are Ivy League schools and that the goal is to get a LL?

Ivy, D111, Nescac.

Yes, the goal is a LL.

I was concerned that if he just submitted the apps, they could get lost in Admissions if the coaches were not ready yet to support him because they had not focused on him yet.

And yes, he would want to go to some of these schools even if he didn’t play a sport.

Thanks.

Without OVs it is unlikely that a scholar-athlete will receive a LL as an athlete recruit.
It is sport dependent.

IMO it is important to find out from the hs coaches how recruitable your student is…and how many with the same stats landed in the ivy.
If any of the schools in question have restricted early apps, then it is best to find out where you student is before submitting.

RD app are not an issue, just the restricted early ones…

Has anyone discussed NLI with your student?
