This thread is for everyone waiting for the prompts to be released. They said it will be out in “mid-march”, but they still haven’t released them 
Hey, I understand that you want to see the prompts. However, I need to mention that “mid March” does NOT mean exactly March 15th or 16th. It’s more like sometime between March 10th and 22nd. It could be as late as March 25th. They only give you a vague estimate.
College are gonna do this, too - most will give you a vague estimate, although some will give an exact date.
Anyways, good luck with your essays 
I wonder if they’ll change prompts from last year. Some people on CC are already working on their essays, they better hope that the prompts don’t change
There may be a chance, but I’m not too sure if the people at Common App would keep the essays the same for 3 years in a row.
For CA, I was lucky that I got the same prompts as the previous year. However, for individual schools & their supplements, I made the mistake of working on my essays in April/May of junior year, assuming that the prompts would be the same - and they weren’t, lol. Yes, they better hope that the prompts don’t change! 
UPDATE: Common App finally updated their website (https://appsupport.commonapp.org/link/portal/33011/33013/Article/1694/2015-16-Common-Application-Essay-Prompts). They are only saying that the instruction will remain the same from last year, and they are close to releasing the final prompts. Hopefully within a week or too!
@noemmi When did your colleges release supplement essay prompts?
@outlooker If I remember correctly, most of them had their supplements up when the CA went up - so August 1st.
However, one school that I applied to (GWU) wasn’t up until maybe early September or the end of August. I only applied to 4 schools, so I’m not sure if that’s normal or not.
They still haven’t released the prompts and we’re in the last week of March. Ugh I’m checking the website like twice a days now :-?
Just curious… why the tension? Is there any advantage to having the prompts now, as opposed to 2 weeks from now?
No tension…just excited to start writing the essay

What does everyone think of the prompts? They’re basically the same from last year except that they threw out the one where you describe a place where you feel at peaceful.
