I'm interested in applying to georgia tech. With common app, however, will they recalculate gpa in the same way they always do, or in some other manner? I got into their distance calculus program, and i heard 97% of those students get into GT, but if gt doesn't recalculate gpa, then idk what to say. Also with common app, does GT look at ALL sections of ACT now?

I don’t have an answer to your specific questions. But I will say that last year, the early action admit rate was MUCH higher than the regular admit rate. So make sure to apply early.

It was the same this year too. Something like a 50% accept rate for early, but 18% for regular.

Georgia Tech will not be recalculating GPAs and they will still only look at certain sections of the ACT

ok so that means we send in the HOPE gpa right?

You send in the GPA on your high school transcript not the HOPE GPA. I would think your high school transcript gpa would be higher because first it counts everything and plus the hope GPA is kind of strange. The highest you can get in an AP class is 4.0.
