Common app?

I received a brochure from Geneseo in the mail today with a one-page "Free Application for Fall 2011 Admission" enclosed. The steps given to complete the application are: submit this application, send a transcript, send SAT scores, send a letter of recommendation, and (optional) give any additional documentation. Nothing in the brochure or the application mentioned applying with the Common App.

Does Geneseo use the Common App exclusively? Can anyone give me more information about this?

I thought this link might help [Freshman Application Process | SUNY Geneseo](http://www.geneseo.edu/admissions/freshmanapplicationprocess-text)

Geneseo does accept the common application.

Thanks for the link! I think I phrased this badly in my original post, but is it possible to apply to Geneseo without using the Common App? I haven’t filled one out and if I can use this one-page thing instead of filling in the entire online Common App that would be great.

I don’t know about Geneseo but many colleges do let students they really want (not everyone) fill out a one page application for free so maybe that’s what you have. Call the admissions office if you’re not sure.

I emailed the admissions office to inquire about free admissions and this is the reply I rec’d… “With regards to the application you referenced we are offering this to out of state students in an effort to increase our geographic out of state diversity on campus”.

Are those receiving the cards in the mail for free admission all “out of state”?
