For the GPA on the common app, which GPA do I use? I know it is grades 9, 10, and 11. What I don't know is if I should post my academic GPA or my GPA inclusive of "art" (music, drawing, etc.) and physical education. Thoughts?

If it of any relevance I'm planning on putting my unweighted GPA. Thanks :)

Hi, you should use whatever your school uses on your transcript/to determine class rank/whatever. It depends on the school whether or not GPAs are strictly academic (for example my school does not count art/music/gym class grades). If you are unsure about your school’s policy on how the GPA is determined, talk to your guidance counselor. I would personally tell you to use your academic one, but if your school is inclusive of all classes in the GPA, you wouldn’t want to appear dishonest. I hope this helped!

^ I agree. Just use whatever way it is presented on your transcript and mark it as weighted or unweighted according. The adcom may re-calculate your GPA using their method if they want to. You don’t want to give them an impression that you are manipulating the data. Making it match with your transcript would avoid any confusion.
