Community College > Barchelor of Architecture

I'm planning to study at a community college before entering a university.

What are some good community colleges? What classes should I take?

Which universities can I enter (3rd year)? Cornell? Syracuse? Texas?

You might want to check with the arch department of the university you are interested in to see which if any CC they accept transfers from and what the required coursework would be. I do know that arch at Cal Poly SLO has a connection with Cuesta College and students transfer in as 3rd yr students into a 5yr BArch program.

I am a current student at Cal Poly SLO. And yes, Cuesta College has the best articulation with the Cal Poly program and it is the only community college from where student can transfer to Cal Poly as a junior. As far as I know, many other B arch programs do not accept the transfer of studio classes, which means that even if your english/math/physics/general education classes can be transferred, you probably still have to do the whole 5 year program after you transfer. Hope this helps!
