"community service" activities

I’m a rising senior in the process and I’ve heard a lot of -er- diverse things that people are putting down as community service activities from blood donating to donating clothes to other things that I wouldn’t really consider community service.

So, because I don’t want to put something down that isn’t universally seen as a service, I thought I’d check something out with you all. Would you consider a Student Referendum Committee a community service activity? We passed out flyers at the library and a grocery store, talking to people to raise awareness of the referendum and try and get people to understand that the students would be the ones suffering if it didn’t pass. To say the least, we had to endure very angry taxpayers who thought the teachers were overpaid, blahblahblah, but it did end up passing.

BUT - should I bother putting it on apps since we only did it two times? There was reasoning behind that, as we did it like the weekend before the voting.

Yeah it’s a little thing, but any opinions?

If political activism/interest in politics is a big theme in your EC's, essays, courseload, and other parts of your app, it'd be great to put it to show more examples of that part of your personality.

If you make no other reference whatsoever to politics or anything political, it will probably be almost entirely passed over when adcoms are considering your app. I suppose you might as well do it anyway, though; I don't see how it could hurt.
