community service

just how important is community service? would someone with a 3.7 UC gpa and 400 hours community service be accepted over someone with a 3.9 UC gpa with 100 hours of community service?

No way to say. Too many soft factors. http://www.admissions.ucla.edu for their admissions criteria. That's all.

Let me tell you this. Do community service if you really enjoy it. Dedicate yourself to it if you really like it. Don't do it if you don't want to. I mean, if you really don't enjoy it - go spend your time improving your essays or your SATs. It'll make your life more fulfilling.

Haha. I had like, 100 hours of community service. ****-ton of good that did me. I got kicked out of NHS for having low citizenship.
