So I came across an article that stated something like the god-like people(people in charge of your life-college admissions/ SAT test peeps) are trying to amend some things to the college admission process and are trying to weight the SAT essay enough so it serves as a comparison to your college essay(s). Since a lot of people proofread your college essay, they believe it doesn't show your potential or some crap like that. Personally I'm alittle ambiguous about this issue.

What are your thoughts?

I've seen that. I think it's really ridiculous. I like the fact that they're trying to make college admissions less stat based. But, I don't think your SAT essay should weigh any toll. Yes, it's all equal. But, it doesn't reflect writing that you put that much thought into, let alone care about. Your SAT essay says very little about you to be quite honest...

Considering the fact that the SAT essay is written in 25 minutes, it is ridiculous to think that one would even compare it to a college essay that would usually take a month or so to write.

Since the college essay is read by so many people and is some-what perfect, they feel as thought they don't really know you since it might not actually be you who's writing the college essay.
