I was wondering how fierce the competition is at CAL. I have heard a few horror stories about the curves on tests. I really just want to know if its almost impossible to get a high GPA in Cal. I want to go to Med School after and i know a poor GPA won't get me anywhere. I am wondering if CAL is worth it, or should I consider a other UC like Davis. All responses will be appreciated.

hehe, the last midterm in my business class, over 1/3 of the class got 100 percent. In my freshman year in math, over 50% of the class got 100 percent on the first midterm. But keep in mind that it's better to have a lower gpa at Cal than have a 4.0 at Heald College or something like that.

It's not impossible to get a high GPA... I haven't gotten a B yet... although some curves have made me come close to it...

Cheers!

wow thats interesting, much different from what I have heard from others. Thanks!

well this competition thing seriously depends on a class...
you wouldnt say the same things with... for example Chem3a...
