Compilation of Critical Reading, October 8

what was the question for which everybody put 'social context something?' sounds familiar, and i might have put it but i cant remember exactly

The question asked what the author meant by the prase "proper environment" for the character.

wooohooo~
I think I perfectly answered the sentence completion questions... however I prob got 6-8 Reading Comprehension questions wrong... what will my score turn out to be?

JaiJai12: 670-720

Can someone explain the double passage about MLK? I don't understand the connection between the two passages.

why bother.. its over =]

can anyone give context for the dancing one? and also does everyone agree with the "to highlight the exteremes"? PRETTY PLEASE!

The context was something like..."whether the frantic dance of subatomic quarks or the waltz of galaxies..."

The answer was something like to highlight the extremes in size.

did ANYONE have that really long passage about the drama teacher and her acting theories??? It started with a paragraph about one of her grandfather's sayings about words...

I had that passage, and I think everybody else did too. It was pretty confusing, but nowhere near the MLK ones or the Cecile one IMHO.

the CR section was harder than the other two ?!?
Do u think that in November it will be the opposite ??

i found that one to be the worst thehn the mlk and cecile...but ya they all are pretty tough...

i think it was the 3rd SC question for the first critical reading section.
i think the answer was either rebellious or tyrannical and i believe the correct answer is rebellious, right?

for the SC question that had the answer "cosmopolitan", what were the other options and what was the question about?

The answer was definitely "cosmopolitan." I am 100% sure. Basically, it said that some authors who used to focus solely on their own country were becoming more ______, talking about other countries and developing a more international view. Cosmopolitan means worldy, encompassing many countries.

The answer to the other question was rebellious.

Flipsta is correct.

Also, Can anyone predict a CR score with 10 wrong 0 omit? And also 8 wrong 0 omit. Thanks

I had that passage about the drama teacher and her methods. All the passages were difficult IMO. It's all become a daze.. was that one about miss honeybunches or something the same one as the mr. beebes / cecil passage or am I mixing them all up?

Lol, Cecile, Honeybunches, and Mr. Beebes are all from the same passage.

I don't really think the "social context" answer makes sense, instead I put down "essense of character" for that acting question. Again for the acting passage, does anyone recall having an answer like "the students are confined to their limited experiences."?
