<p>My school has trimester system and we barely finished last tri two weeks ago. Of course, I had 3 A+ and 1 A (All APs but 1). Also, my GPA went up. But when I checked my class rank, my rank actually went down 1!! So, i found the person who is now third in our class and asked her what grades she got. When I look at her grade report, I saw classes like: Piano Lab 1, Band III, Visual art... Oh my god, our grading system sucks, I actually took much harder courses and got very high grades... but she still beat me b/c she got all A+...
Our grading system is based on 4.33, A+ being 4.33 and A being a 4 out of 4.33...
OMG i am sooo ****ed right now :(

<p>This is pretty much what happens with unweighted grades. People with the lightest course load have the greatest opportunity to move up in the ranks.</p>
<p>live with it, why should you give a crap about what other people do, just stop complaining and worry about what you are doing. I hate people that complain like this, it's just not worth the breath.</p>

<p>it doesnt matter. most colleges re-calculate gpas w/ only majors, as well as look at the courses you actually took. the number alone means nothing. all schools calculate differently.</p>

<p>also-im sure the girl needs to take other classes besides arts to graduate. maybe she wants to be an artist so why should she take AP Calc or AP physics, it wouldnt be worth it HOWEVER you really should try to get a petition to have your school weigh grades or something</p>
<p>my class rank drops one every year because i take theatre (non-honors course, but my passion and a lot of work).
its because the kids in the top of our class take BS-computer courses with honors credit....</p>
<p>i got over it, i'm now ranked at #9 and theres really nothing to complain about with a rank like that...</p>
<p>i guess what i'm saying is that, a tough courseload and great grades speak for themselves - a few people ahead of you is nothing. but yeah, it does kinda suck :P</p>
<p>Inundated. First of all, the girl is going to Clarkson. And the name of Clarkson used to be Clarkson institution of tech. (something like that)... So, go figure.</p>

<p>Our student council and some teachers have been complaining about uw GPA system for years, but the school admin. ALWAYS think they are the ***** and never listen to our opinion.</p>
