For those who have completed and turned in your application, did you get an e-mail or paper mail that verified all of your stuff got there/your app. is officially complete?

Super18blue,

Sometime after you complete and submit your application you will get an e-mail which will give you directions on how to access OPUS (Online Pathway to University Students), which is Emory University's online student information system.

You will have limited access only to those parts of OPUS that you will need to get to, but as an applicant for admission, it will be the place where you can check online for the status of your application, check the admission decision on the decision date, pay your deposit, etc. It also has a number of buttons you can click on in which the University may want additional information or indicate that there are items to your application that may be missing (i.e., test scores sent, recommendations, etc.). This will generally fall under the groupings of "TO DO LIST" or "MESSAGES".

If your application is complete, be forewarned that OPUS sometimes does not reflect ALL things instantaneously. The "processing" time for OPUS to be updated sometimes will lag considerably between the time you take care of an outstanding item and the time in which OPUS says you've done it. By and large, don't fret about this, although I know you might anyway ;-)

Later, if you are admitted to Emory, you (and your parents) will use OPUS for many other functions, from making online registration payments to enrolling in classes to checking your transcript/grades, etc.

Because I know you will fret (as you are already showing signs of doing so), you can always call the Office of Admission, and they will likely allay your concerns, (404) 727-6036.

Super: We called yesterday and were told it would be a couple of weeks before OPUS would be updated...All the counselors are out of town and the staff could not confirm if d application was complete.....Guess we have to hope for the best.....

Ok! I'm not too worried, and am fairly confident all my stuff is there, but I just wanted to make sure! Thanks to both of you!

I sent my application to Emory 2 weeks ago, and checked OPUS this morning to see if my application has been processed and got the following:

You have no To Dos at this time.

Undergraduate Admission Office - Admissions Application Complete

I didn't get an email, so unless they notify you by mail, you'll have to check OPUS from time to time to see if they've processed your application.

Mika: Thank you...we'll check periodically....

My D started a "personal" app sent to her by email, but we'd also completed one on the common app. It is not submitted. We have gotton one letter requesting a SS#, and one saying her app is processed.I am assuming this is regarding the emailed app. Is there a way to link the emailed app and the common app which is essentially finished?

Norcadad...you sound like you have some insights...

yeah I just went on the OPUS site and was able to get an ID/pw...I wonder why they don't e-mail you.....

Who knows.

Shrinkrap, call the admissions office and see what they say. I'm thinking that if you leave a note attached to the common apps telling them to put this in her file along with the email apps, they'll do just that and link them together, but call the office just to make sure.
