I have studied in Fraser International College for 4 semesters in Health Science and had a not high GPA (2.3 yep I know…). So, I want to apply for University of Calgary for fall as a freshman for computer science, but I’m not sure I will get in because of my FIC experience. So, I’m thinking of going to James Cook University Singapore for Information Technology major and then transfer to U of C. What are the chances I will get in U of C? I really want to go there, but I’m just not sure what is the best way (go to JCU and then transfer or wait until fall and see if I’ll get accepted).
+++ I forgot to also ask… Will it help me to get in if I show my extracurriculars?
You will be a transfer student. You can’t apply for freshman admission. Your college GPA will be the only thing considered for admission. The maximum number of credits that can be transferred is 30. This corresponds to one full year (two semesters) of credits.
