I am not sure which path to take... but I am equally interested in both.

Anybody have any advice?

Also, do I need to have prior knowledge to study either CE or CS?

Computer engineering= half computer science and half electrical engineering.
Computer science= programming + math.

^^^ And what is electrical engineering?

If you don’t mind programming ( c++, and java are the popular languages) choose computer science.
IMHO, I’d choose computer engineering because it’s a broader focus of study and you could easily take the 3-4 additional classes you would have missed from the computer science program after you graduate. Furthermore, you can take the 3-4 electrical engineering classes you would’ve missed after graduation. COMPUTER ENGINEERING ftw…

^^^ Yeah I was originally leaning more towards CE… thanks a lot!

Do a quick google search of “electrical engineering”. Anyways, don’t pigeon hole yourself into compsci. As I stated before, you can easily supplement any deficiencies after graduation or better yet get a masters in either compsci, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.

I strongly suggest you go over the first few pages of this forum. There are a couple CS, CpE, EE posts. Read them.

No. But nice to have some basic programming, just ideas.
Again, there are hundreds of these threads. Go over them, and narrow down to some specific questions.

The first few pages are the most recentS. They provide good information (in regard to double major, comparing CS, CpE, EE, pre before engineering school, etc).
