Now, I'm not a Grade A student, but I am decent in math. I got a 590 in the math section in the SAT I. I have been in honors classes for math and science in my high school, even though the highest I am going up to is Algebra 2 becuase that is all my school offers as the highest, unfortunately. However, I am taking Physics (not calc based) and know that in college you can take both.

I am a B+ Student Average and am looking for a good engineering school for myself.

So far I have a few reach, and knowledge of 3-2 programs.

I have applied ED I to Lehigh University (yeah yeah I know reach reach), but I have done programs at that university that at least gives me a better shot then without them. But I still need some backups, and I want some similar to LU, but ofcourse not as reach that offer decent Computer Engineering programs.

Thanks

Thanks for the post, but I was looking for schools a bit closer to my range. Those would be extremely difficult, near impossible for me to get in. I am only a B+ student and I have around a 1700 on three sections and 1140 on two. However, I am not the best test taker when it comes to those things…so I am one of the few on this site that have mediocre scores.

I have 4 years of work experience; two of those four years at a world renowned lawfirm (White & Case) helping in web-design and co-ordinator of our website. I’ve also done a lot of Community Service and extra service such as helping raise 10,000$ with an organization (One Home many hopes) to build schools in Kenya. Also worked in Neurology and did research at Columbia for a summer program on Stroke in African Americans and Latino’s and made a presentation on them at Weill Cornell Medical School.

Purdue is very easy to get into (not easy to get into). I had a B average and still got in.

I think that a reasonable school to aim at is Rowan University in New Jersey as a match/safety school. It has a very good engineering program. You can try Rose-Hulman Institute Of Technology too as a reach school.

What are your thoughts on Boston University or a 3-2 program with Columbia at schools like Clark University

Boston University is very selective if you don’t think you’ll get into those engineering colleges above.

I wouldn’t go the 3-2 route personally but that’s just my opinion. Haven’t heard of too many people who have successfully gotten an engineering degree that way.

Also, BU is selective, but it isn’t as selective as some of the colleges you listed. Can you show me where the total rankings for Computer Engineering are? How good is Purdue?

I got the rankings for computer engineering from here:

Purdue is among the top 10 engineering colleges in the country.
