Computer Science A(B)

That was pleasant (AB). I think I spotted a minute error, though. I'm on hold.

Wow. That was challenging. Think I did well on the multiple choice (only one I guessed others i believed I knew) and the free response minus the gridworld question.

Ended up not answering the third part of the gridworld free response and guessing for the first two crosses fingers.

Believe I definitely have a 4 or 5. Hoping for the latter.

I screwed up on a lot of MC questions, but I think I did fairly well on the free response section. Hopefully, the curve will be lenient.

Pyrotix there were 3 FR gridworld questions? Are you in A or AB because I took the A exam and I only remember doing 2 questions for gridworld.

Is it just me or were the FRQ's pretty hard? I couldn't do part b on the 4th one because I ran out of time... they seemed pretty time consuming because it took me a while to figure out my approach to solving them. What did you guys think? I took the AB test by the way.

I thought the last part of number 4 and the part b of the second on the A exam were pretty hard.

I thought that all the FRQ questions were easy except the GridWorld one (on the AB exam) -- however, everyone else who took the test with me had the opposite opinion.

I took AB...and people over here (6 of us in my school) did't like the gridworld question either. The fourth one is supposed to be a bit challenging -- but I figured it out! ^o^

I seem to recall something about "never being allowed to discuss the MC" and only being permitted to discuss the FRQs after 48 hours :P

/me warns

anyone know the required raw score to get a 5? it seems like it'd be pretty lenient, cause last year 33% got a 5.

The gridworld question was a lot easier than the ones in the Barrons book and in the practice AP. Overall the test was a lot easier than I expected and I was surprised that none of the free responses were tremendously difficult.

The last section of FRQ #3 was one line long. Anyone else get that?

Raw score to get a 5 is 68/100 according to 2004 rubric.

Which one was that? The majority of my code for most of the questions was very short.

Wrote AB. I found the last free response, 4., sort of fun . Ended up skipping three to go to four and then ended up going back to three and running out of time for (c) after sort of guessing for 3(a), 3(b).

"I seem to recall something about "never being allowed to discuss the MC" and only being permitted to discuss the FRQs after 48 hours :P"

our discussion so far has been limited to saying things like the "the MC weren't too bad" and that "the gridworld question was hard. "

I'm pretty sure that such is not in danger of compromising the integrity of the exam or our scores. Of course if anyone is more learned in the manner I'd gladly listen.

I took the A test. Overall fairly easy. Nothing too overly difficult. I did take the long route on some FRQs, just so the answers are more legible. They don't take pts off for taking the safe route right? I could get the 4C of the free response though...

SunPenguin: I don't think they'll take points off, as long as your approach is not overly inefficient. If you just make more variables to improve the understandability, it should be fine.
pyrotix: yes!yes! No.4 FR is so much fun. The funny thing is that: I, too, skipped 3 and jumped to 4 and then went back to 3 and the big o thing :)

I found the majority of the A exam pretty fun overall to take, haha. The only one I ended up having trouble with was the second part of #2 but that was because I couldn't figure out what in the hell the question was asking me to do until I finished rereading it 10 times, haha.

anyone take ab form b?

I took the ab after only taking the a course and doing some self-study for the rest. I thought the mc was reasonable but I definitely screwed up a few, I thought #1 and #4 on the FRQ were fun (but I am so not admitting that anywhere else other than here...APs aren't supposed to be fun...), I screwed up #2 bigtime, and gridworld was just...no. So overall, I'd say I probably got a 4 I'd think
