I'm going to Washington University in St. Louis next year. I'm considering engineering / computer science.

WashU has several ABET-accredited engineering programs, but its computer science program is not ABET-accredited .

Is ABET Accreditation as important in Computer Science as it is in other engineering majors?

Exactly what I want to know....Is ABET advantageous?...anyone?

Incidentally, it has an accredited Computer Engineering degree. Just not a Computer Science degree.

No. ABET's not advantageous for any field where, professionally, it's not necessary to obtain a professional engineering license. Comp Sci is one of those majors.

Hope that helps!
