Computer Science and Engineering

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the two? What do they focus on and what kind of jobs are available after graduation? Basically anything that has to do with these two majors.

You mean the difference between Computer Science and Computer Engineering or Engineering as a whole?

If you mean the first then CS focuses more on software development, programming etc while CE focuses on the hardware part of computers but also take some classes on the "soft" part but never as much as CS. It depends on what you lile.

Ahh, sorry I meant Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Do you happen to know the job opportunies after graduation?

Just search Google for the differences between the two, that's what I did. I think that at its core, Computer Science is more about software programming, and using previously established technologies and conventions to build new things, or perfect other things, and Computer Engineering is more about hardware-- you know, bit manipulation, low level programming, all that stuff.

My recommendation if you're interested, start off as a Computer Science major, if you're enjoying that, then continue along this path until you get to the Architecture class (your school should have one, ours was uh, 5th semester, I think), that's a taste of Engineering. If you're in the minority of students who actually likes the class and aces it, then you might want to see about transferring over to a Computer Engineering major.
