I'll be attending NYU Abu Dhabi starting with this year and I'm currently reading up on all the courses offered. I know that having a liberal arts program, it's really flexible when it comes to academic changes, but I'd like to have some sort of idea of the path I'd like to head down on.

If it were up to me, I'd double major in computer science and film and new media. Given that my parents cannot see the practical use of my second major, I'm also considering double majoring in computer science and economics.

Another option would be to major in computer science and have a concentration( a minor basically) in economics, given that CS majors are required to have a concentration/second major in either applied mathematics, economics or the natural sciences. This option would also allow me to pursue Arabic, but is knowledge of this language really going to be worth the difficulty of learning it?

I've been studying computer science for four years, so I know the basics of it. Film has always been a passion of mine, but I understand my parent's reticence towards it, and wouldn't mind it just being a hobby. I haven't had much contact in high school with economics, but I believe that it complements CS nicely. So, double major in CS and Film & New Media, double major in CS and Economics, or major in CS, have a concentration in Economics and be able to devote several courses to studying Arabic?

If you've reached this point, thank you so much for reading my post, and I'd really appreciate any advice you have!
