computer science minor?

I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want to go through with this. I tried to get into 61A this semester but couldn't get off the waitlist in time and ended up taking 61AS. That class has been fine and I'm glad that I took it, but I'm afraid of having to go through the same stressful process of attending 2 classes hoping that I'll get into the one I want, and consequently jeopardizing my performance in all my other classes in the meantime. Because I'm still doing pre-reqs for my major I won't be able to phase-1 any compsci classes until next semester, and it seems like that's the only way to guarantee a spot (at least based on my experiences so far and the current enrollment for 61B). I'm considering taking cs70 next semester because it doesn't seem to fill up as quickly, but I'm worried about going through this same process of crossing my fingers and hoping I get in every semester that I want to take a computer science class. Are the upper-division classes this difficult to get into? Is it significantly easier to get into them if you're an official cs minor as opposed to a 'commoner'? Or am I just overreacting? I like computer science and I want to continue learning more about it, but obviously I have to give registration priority to the classes I need for my major. If you guys have any advice I'd really appreciate it : )
