I’m looking for a computer for a information systems major I was preferred a hp computer would you agree?
My advice: Get whatever you are most comfortable with. Mac/PC is sort of irrelevant.
Get an HP if that’s what you are comfortable with. They make some very good laptops.
Yes, I agree that an HP is better than most other computers. They aren’t as nice quality as Apple’s but lets face it, most of the money if not half is spent towards the “cool looking” features on a mac. Its a waste if you ask me.
Despite what some other people have said, I strongly recommend the Macbook Air 13" (if you’re considering Mac/can afford it). Before getting my Macbook Air, I’d used a PC my whole life. The transition was smooth, and I haven’t regretted it one bit since. The Air is MUCH lighter than the Pro and much less expensive. You don’t really need all the extra features on a Pro anyway.
My favorite thing about my Mac is that it’s extremely light and easy to travel with (which I do a lot of in college - lugging it to my CS classes and to the library; I basically take it everywhere with me, and it’s extremely convenient and not back-breaking in heaviness). Some other pros are that it’s decently fast and has a pretty accessible user interface. Honestly, despite what some non-Mac users might think, it’s extremely user-friendly.
I would recommend the Dell XPS13… Look it up.
It’s a bit expensive, but it’s a great alternative to the MBP / MBA. Far better specs and far better screen. It’s build quality might even be better than Apple’s.
Just look it up on YouTube.
As an IS major you may not want an Apple. The Dell XPS13 or XPS15 are great models with durable cases and in some models solid state hard drives. They can get pricy with the 4k screen but they are very nice
