Why do some people get invitations (i.e., sunday at square, university day) while others do not?
Does not getting one mean you're probably not in...?

If you haven't got an invitation yet, you should be getting a letter on April 1, like most applicants.

Sunday at the Square and University Day are just events for some special programs (Sunday at the Square is the Scholars Program, University Day is something to do with CAS, I think, but I don't know much about it. Only about SatS.)

Not getting a letter doesn't mean you've been rejected. NYU just got out those invitations early because the events are early... Sunday at the Square for Stern is April 1 (not sure about the others).

i'm bracing myself for a rejection.. since it seems like the majority of the people got invites..

nope.... for cas only 5% of the pool got invites.... or thats wat the director of admissions told me

university day isn't just for CAS, i got it for stern. and i think the 5% may be only for the sunday @ the square??? it seems like a lot more than 5% is getting the university day thingy.

well i dont know, but I asked the lady specifically about CAS invites and she said only 5% get those and the rest are notified on April 1.

I doubt she would lie about it....

someone else said this one here and i dont remember where but i think that the top applicants get sunday (or saturday) at the square. then the second tier receive the university day invites. the rest receive admissions letters on april 1st

so not getting either doesn't mean you have been rejected.

i got uni invite but i doubt i'm second tier..prolly used randgen

i doubt i'm top 5% though
