Concerns About Recommendations

I am in the process of applying for transfer admission into schools for when I complete 3+ years of service Active Duty Army next year. I'll be trying to bring my 70+ credits earned from two state universities prior to my service and an Associate's degree from a community college earned after AIT. The schools on my wish list are all decent Yellow Ribbon Program contributors and offer my intended major. Most of them also happen to use the Common App unfortunately, and almost all of them require at least one "Academic Evaluator", which is essentially a teacher/professor recommendation.

Here's my problem - While I was in the classroom, I never did anything to warrant being remembered, and given the time since I've been in classrooms, I don't think I can expect a glowing recommendation from anyone. It doesn't seem these schools accept employer/supervisor recommendations in lieu of an academic evaluator. Anyone have any advice? Do I just have to give up hope on these schools if I can't get an academic evaluator?

E-mail the schools and ask. I thought the same thing but they allowed me to use my military supervisors in lieu of professors/advisers.

^^I’ve also used military supervisors (and civilian employment supervisors) for “Academic/Teacher Evaluations/Recommendations”. I just contacted the admissions or veterans office to the school in which I was applying to confirm I could use such supervisors . . . all of them said it was fine.

For my letter of recommendations I am just using my CO and 1SG…I can get them from GO’s but I doubt that will be any better.
