I haven’t seen any suggestion at all that her death was related to a concussion, much less that she’d had a concussion that wasn’t appropriately handled by the school. For goodness sake, the girl just died on Friday, I’m sure they have no idea yet what the cause was of this terrible tragedy. I don’t think it’s appropriate to post on here suggesting that Nobles was somehow at fault or could have done something to avoid it.

Agreed. Very inappropriate.

I just saw an article in a local paper - it was a brain hemorrhage with no known pre-existing medical conditions. Very sad but looks like nothing the school could have done differently. http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/article/20151012/NEWS/151019233

This is so tragic. How heartbreaking.

This tragic event seems unrelated to head injury but it is possible. We would need to know the history.

If this student had suffered a head injury/concussion in the days preceding the incident, then it is possible that the bleed was caused by a delayed epidural hematoma. When I was a kid, I had a traumatic head injury due to a ski accident and the doctors would not let me sleep because constant surveillance was need to look for early signs of bleeding. Turns out that one can recover from the injury, have a lucid period, and then suddenly present with neurological findings.

I agree that the story is heartbreaking.
