CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION HELP

HI All,

I changed all of my second semester course cuz I thought I would be able to register for them at the time of applying, but I ended up having to replace all my courses. The courses I took are of equal rigor, so would there be a problem or threat of rescind? How should I go about this and informing admissions?

As part of your provisional admission, you need to contact admissions with any schedule/course changes.

@Gumbymom Oh okay, but it shouldn’t jeopardize my admission right? Also, I have no clue where on CalCentral I can accept offer of admission and deposit. Do you know? Thanks!

Depending upon which courses you changed, it could affect your admission. Contact them as soon as possible. I thought you were waitlisted, so did you just get off the waitlist?

@Gumbymom Yea I got off the waitlist. I replaced all my courses to courses of equal or greater rigor (by course number). Since I am an early college student, our spring courses are hardly set in stone in November (we don’t even register until December, and since I am in high school, I have lower priority for course selection, which affected my entire schedule). I also made note of this on my waitlist essay.

You are required as soon as you have a schedule change to notify all UC’s. I would email or call admissions tomorrow to let them know of the schedule change. UC’s expect your self-reported courses on your UC application to match your final transcript so any discrepancies would be a reason for having your admission rescinded. Just make sure UCB is aware of the changes.

@Gumbymom I already submitted a form, but I also told them on the waitlist essay we had to fill out back in April. I assume they read the essay and were already aware of my course changes before admitting me off the waitlist?

I would just call to confirm they have the documentation. Better safe than sorry.

@Gumbymom Ah okay. Would you suspect it to be a problem; they already knew of these changes before admitting me off the waitlist.

It shouldn’t be a problem if you already notified them just confirm they have the information in your file.

@Gumbymom ok thanks. Also, one more thing. My school is kinda weird; we changed from A-Fto 0-100 after my Freshman year, but we can’t change the reporting of grades in UC application, so I still reported my 90-100’s as As instead of the numerical number on my transcript (because UC doesn’t allow changing of scale). Also, my school is on semester schedule, but we only receive one final grade for each course. However, UC forced me to put in two grades for semester courses, so I just double reported the same grade (like if I got an A, I would input it as A first semester, A second semester, etc). My grades are accurate, but my school’s changes caused some confusion and problems. UCB wouldn’t rescind me because of that right? Would they inquire/ask questions before rescinding?

They will most likely ask/inquire about the grading scale change. Also with your final transcripts, your counselor should include a school report and should mention the change. If in doubt, you could send UCB a copy of your transcripts up until the end of Senior year so they are aware of the grading scale change. Like I stated, I always like to play it safe.

BTW congratulations on your acceptance and best of luck.
