On Stanford’s website, it says that Federal Financial Aid is limited to 18 quarters (6 years). However, Federal and Instituional Aid come from different sources. So, if someone had to take more than 6 years of coursework, would they still be eligible for Institutional Aid, or does Stanford have a policy against it? I’ve looked extensively, but cannot find an answer and was hoping someone had experience with it.
Also, why on earth does Stanford not offer aid during the Summer?
Still waiting for an answer…
Have you called their financial aid office? They should be able to answer your questions.
I don’t understand why they would continue aid for more than 4 years. Stanford is going to expect that most students can graduate in 4 years. Of course, aid for graduate school, such as if you go on for a PhD, would be a separate thing and would be considered at the time that you apply to graduate school.
However, I agree with @austinmshauri that you should call Stanford and ask them.
If you require more than 6 years to earn a bachelor’s degree at Stanford chances are you will never graduate.
