Hi all,
I scoured the QuestBridge website, but couldn't find an answer.

If you apply early through the Match program and attempt to be matched to top universities (Ivies, MIT, Caltech, etc), and you get rejected from a college, are you rejected from further consideration entirely, deferred to the normal admissions round, or is it evaluated on a case by case basis as per each college's policy?

Thanks!

There is no such thing as getting rejected in the match round. If you’re matched, you will only hear back the school that you ranked the highest that picked you. You won’t hear back from anyone else.

If you’re not matched, colleges that would accept you but couldn’t offer you the scholarship might contact you and tell you to apply to their school for guaranteed admission. I know Northwestern specifically did this.

If there’s a QB school that you REALLY want to go to, you can email them after Dec. 1st, and ask to apply ED.

Otherwise, your application process is the same as anyone else’s with the advantage of a QB application.

hey,

in the match process you can’t be rejected, your app is just forwarded to round two. make sure to fill out the requirements for the RD round, as they often differ from the match requirements, but no you cannot be “denied” by any college in the match process, as opposed to ED or EA where you can.
