Or perhaps I’d be considered neither and won’t be able to take loans at all.
After I graduate with my undergrad degree, I’ll be applying to language programs at universities abroad. These programs, in general do not award degrees but certificates and don’t require applicants to have an undergraduate degree. I know this means that the programs don’t count as graduate programs, but I’m wondering is there’s some leeway with the term ‘professional schools’ (according to the FAFSA website, students in graduate or professional schools can take out a certain amount in loans).
My biggest concern is that language schools may not even be considered undergraduate intuitions, and therefore I wouldn’t be able to take out stafford loans at all.
Does anyone have any knowledge on this subject? Sorry if I’m on the wrong sub-forum - if I am, please direct me to the correct one. Thanks!
Since you are not a graduate/professional students any loans that you would get would be at the undergraduate rate.
Should you get the max of $7500 would is be enough to pay for your program abroad?
If this is a certificate program (which are usually money makers for the school), you may not be eligible for funding. While FAFSA does cover certificate programs, many of them are vocational education programs leading to work.
