Confused

Can someone make sure i have all the essays down if i am applying to the engineering college

1 personal statement essay on app
2. why columbia essay
3 why fu foundation essay

do we have to do one of the 5 extended essays options ("dont play what's there , play what's not there)

do we have to write the two questions (how does the university of chicago , as you know it no, satisfy your desire for a particular kind of learning....)

this isnt the university of chicago....REJECTION!

Yep, you're obviously confused. Thread title is fitting.

Gee, Columbia 2002.

You must be very confused to graduate from Columbia in 2002 and find yourself with nothing better to do than to post on these boards!

What a waste of an education.

But then you are living proof that an Ivy League education is not guarantor of success!

In fact you are a perfect example!

Dear Mr. Ad Hominem Attack,

I likely make more than your parents and have tremendously favorable career prospects in a wide number of industries. It is clear that I will get every dime of value out of my (admittedly hyped) education. The fact that I choose to spend a few minutes each day unwinding on a message board while I wait for the next bucket of work to drop into my lap does not give you carte blanche to start laying into us.

We are humble and friendly when not personally insulted. You, clearly, don't bother waiting to shed that veneer. That's hardly a guarantor of success there either, cowboy.

Same here. Well said.

We all know it takes so long to post a few messages on this board each day. Clearly we have no time for anything else in life.

yeah. I probably went overboard, but i was running on zero sleep and was pretty peeved.

No problem. Lashing out on these Boards is what Columbia 2002 does all the time.

Maybe your two should meet!

About Time....since you created your membership to this site within the past 13 days you have posted eight times...seven of which have been flaming columbia2002.....

i find it really silly that someone (odin64x) thought it was necessary to make another account and start stalking columbia2002 throughout the board and flaming him/her...that is very childish....also people on this board can say whatever they want and the HS students should know their role and be nicer to the current students and alumni because without us on the board you have an ignorant discussion among highschool kids who dont know anything about columbia. If someone's tone or advice rubs you the wrong way...ignore it and move on...there is no set answer to admission questions we each come here and give our opinion and the highschool kids that come on this site should be greatful that we do take the ten minutes a day to answer your silly questions because if we didnt this site would be useless.

It's 'grateful', not 'greatful.'

I thought I would check out the Boards after the Minuteman incident.

I found Columbia 2002's posts neither helpful nor reflective of the underlying reality of Columbia.

I attend Columbia and no one has to be 'grateful' to me.

I call bull***** on you attending columbia, on the basis of post #4. Let's settle this. PM me your school email, I'll reply with mine, and you send me an email saying that you're About Time on CC. Let's clear that one up right now.

haha, there clearly is no reason to go through all that, he's clearly full of it. He's not gonna outsmart anyone with his half-assed stories of how he's a columbia student....give it up and leave with some sort of dignity still intact. I challange you to try to answer any of the questions on this board about columbia with any sort of depth or knowledge...should make for a good laugh.

I am not a he. I am a she.

You make more than my parents? I assume you mean money? And since they are both professionals and both have been working for over twenty-five years, I doubt it.

Is that how you create personal value, that and posting?

Have you read half of what Columbia 2002 has posted and now this person claims to be an interviewer?

You want my CC address:

it's my three initials and four numbers afterwards.

It is in fact my intention to petition the Alumni Committee to have this person removed as an interviewer based on the habitually rude posts if this person is truly an interviewer or even ever attended Columbia.

It is my belief that Columbia 2002 claims to represent Columbia in an official capacity and the tone, demeanor, and facts represented are inappropriate.

That's my point. Assault the messenger, but that's my message.

I believe somewhere this person identified their dorms for each year.

I don't think it will be too hard to figure out who this person is if this is a real Columbia Alum and truly serving, god forbid, as an interviewer.

Columbia 2002 is a poor representative of a Colmubia Alum and that's my point.

If you would like to extrapolate that to apply to yourselves that's your choice. Not mine.

Do you know the difference between such concepts as annual income and net worth? Apparently not.

Posting on this board takes, like, 10 minutes a day. Why is this so hard to grasp?

NOW I claim to be an interviewer? I've stated that I'm an interviewer since I started posting here.

How exactly is this statement probative of whether you attend Columbia? Think about it, genius.

Good luck. Be sure to keep us all posted on how that goes. We all can use a good laugh.

I don't speak for Columbia in any official capacity. I've told you that before.

Yeah, I'm the only person who lived in the 4 dorms that I lived in.

Go for it. Why don't you call the FBI while you're at it and have them trace my IP and figure out who I am?

Without doing that and compromising his identity, he could post or email someone a screenshot of his something in Columbia's website that requires you to log in with your UNI. For example, he could post a screenshot from SSOL (blacking out whatever personal informaton that appears there).

I can do that. And I will do that but what does that prove?

Certainly, I know the difference between net worth and income. I'd be an idiot not to. Professionals income typically increase with age and of course with inflation over a 25 year period.

Clearly, Columbia 2002 has no advanced degrees. The statistics indicate that an Ivy League educated person sans advanced degrees will earn rougly the same as one with non=Ivy degrees, since you so crassly brought up my parents income as compared to yours.

No doubt, you have bucket loads of work. You are probably doing some menial job that has wave after wave of trivial pointless work and posting on these boards is the highlight of your day.

If Columbia 2002 is serving as an interviewer for Columbia this is a travesty. I'm not going to call the FBI, that's absurd.

But I am going to lodge a very legitimate complaint.

Why don't you do the same!

I think it is very important for people to know that all the students at Columbia do not participate in the disdain shown often by Columbia 2002.

Most students do not come to this board and maybe the 'wrong kind' do come. Those that have not adjusted well to the environment in which they find themselves may cling to this Board. I thought I would check in and take a read on the Minute Men take and was offended by the attitude that is exhibited here.

Most Columbia students do not act elitist and do not participate in put downs. Certainly, the faculty does not.

I am saddened to find that the spirit of Columbia is not represented by Columbia 2002 but with 22 hours, a Friday job and a sports activity I probably won't be back.

Just remember, if you want to come to Columbia -- the real people here are a lot nicer that those that post on this board.

Good luck to those who apply and if you don't get in it might be because someone else with your credentials had already filled that mosaic spot that creates a new freshman class for Columbia every year.

So, I imagine that it's clear to everyone reading out there that About Time is off his/her rocker, columbia student or not, and has some very deep-seated personal vendetta against C2002. I have, personally, not found him to be anywhere in the same ballpark of objectionability. The rest of you will, of course, make your own judgments.

Actually, I'm delivering a presentation to the CEO of a large news service organization tomorrow on how they can (and ought to) renegotiate two certain contracts to net them an incremental ~$20MM in revenue. But yeah, I'll try to cram in a little more time answering some questions on this message board, because it's fun, I loved Columbia, want the best for it as an institution, and want others to share in the same feeling. Sorry if you find that so personally offensive. I imagine some here might tell you that's your loss.
