confuseddd about personal essay

the prompt for the personal essay is as follows:

Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

like I know what my reasons are...but how are the reasons different than objectives? aren't they the exact same thing?? anyone got a cluee?

I interpreted it as why I wanted to transfer, and how I would take advantage of the opportunities at my new school.

Not the same thing at all. You reasons are what is lacking at your old school that you believe you can find at your new school. Your objectives are what you hope to achieve at your new school.

true that… objectives is your overall goal… whether it be a bachelors or a certain career, yet reasons for transfer are “why are you leaving your current school?”

so I guess this is the kind of esaay you can interpret the way you want. I think they are just looking for your writing skills, and how well you develop your story. I wrote about why I didnt want to transfer in High school, and why I want to transfer now, and well the objectives i hope to achieve now as well…A lot of people have told me i am focusing so much on the past so I think I will rewrite it…

G luck!

“”“”“”. I think they are just looking for your writing skills, and how well you develop your story"“”“”“”

There is a whole section on SAT for that.

I had a question. I know that they just want to see your skills and what not. So does this mean that if you move away from the true focus of the prompt question that you will look like you’re avoiding it? I mean the questions are really boring, so would someone get penalized if they somewhat answer the prompt, but at the same time they don’t answer it fully and directly like most college essay’s.

Vintij, the best best is to always answer the question. It is possible to make one’s response creative and “non boring.”
