Confusion with the schoalrship policy

The highest result of two methods is used to obtain an SAT score on the 1600-point scale; in both methods, the highest submitted SAT scores are used:
•Critical Reading + Math, or
•the average of Critical Reading + Writing added to Math

I didn't get the second part, actually the whole process. Do they take only cr+m or something else my SAT superscored is 1960 and gpa isn't calculated in our high school but based on information on cambridge's website, took the a-levels, I think it will be a 3.7+ so is there any chance of me getting the PROVOST’S SCHOLARS. I know it requires a sat cr + m of 1360 or better but i have 1320. Besides, the average of CR + W added to M section made me confused. Does it mean 1960 divided by 2? Then even 2400 divided by 2 would be 1200 and not qualify for the good ones. Please clear this confusion. Thanks!

Let’s say your CR is X, your M is Y, and your W is Z

You can take either X+Y
OR
(X+Z)/2 + Y

Whichever yields the higher number

If this doesn’t make sense, either pm me or post your numbers, and I can tell you what they will calculate

what it means is they use ur CR score or the average or your CR score and ur writing score. They will use the higher score of those 2 options and add that “score” to your math score.

Thanks guys!
