Want to say congratulations to all the graduates and proud parents of the class of 2022. My son received a superb education and had a wonderful experience at UChicago. It was such a pleasure to be on this path with him. He is our Hemingway and our Einstein. We are so proud.

Congrats, my DD is coming by to see a friend graduate in ME, she is going on to get her PhD at Princeton.

So not on topic, but an interesting story on people you meet and UChicago.
I was in Tampa and heading to the hotel in a car service when I started up a conversation with the driver. Turns out he was originally from South Chicago and I mentioned I was familiar with South Chicago and my daughter graduated from UChicago. The story gets interesting at that point, he mentions his mother was a professor there and was one of the women that had been featured in the movie “Hidden Figures” (about AA women who helped that NASA program reach the moon). He had applied to UChicago but unfortunately was rejected (so much for being a legacy at UChicago) and ended up at Vanderbilt. His son ended up attending Vandy also. That’s the short version of the conversaton.
