The Review is considered one of the best conservative university newspapers in the country.
When I visited UMich yesterday for my campus day I saw an anti Trump protest on the diag. (I’m a liberal but I just thought this would be worthwhile to share on this thread)
I think the majority of college students are against trump because college students are idealists and more liberal
@bearcats
“What I do care about is whether any tax money should be allocated to anything (mortgage) related. Sure you have the choice to pursue a (mortgage), but you should do it entirely at your cost, and I should not have to pay a cent for your personal choice unless it’s threatening your life. There are plenty of fiscal conservatives who would make this argument. This is not imposing your belief on other people, but simply an opinion on what the role of government is, and a general opposition of the welfare state.”
I switched this up a little. This argument can be used for many other things as well. One issue with “fiscal conservatism” is that fiscal conservatives only believe what directly and personally impacts them is worthy of funding or consideration. And that’s why they may get challenged on a liberal leaning campus. Fund your own mortgages.
@notveryzen
The stereotypes of liberals is very interesting as if there are no liberals (or left leaning people) in business or engineering (I consider myself liberal and graduated with both an engineering degree and later an MBA from Michigan). Zuckerberg and Gates and other historic world changers would disagree with you.
