The arc question asked how much bigger the 160 degree arc was compared to the 20 degree arc, which would be 8 times bigger

I must have misread several questions. My, apparently false, interpretation of a few of the questions:

Didn’t the sweater question ask what was the probability that taken she picks any sweater, she WILL (not won’t) pick a matching scarf? -1/5

Wasn’t the sequence question asking for the SECOND (not first) term? -1/32

And wasn’t the box question stating that there were 1000 boxes (not pounds) of candy, each containing 1/2 a pound of candy that cost $2 per pound? -$1000

@frelacer

I misread the scarf one like you the first time through, then reread it and realized I was doing it backwards.

I totally screwed up that q so I can’t help you there.

It was 4,000 boxes I believe. Thus, your reasoning is sound, you just started with a wrong base assumption. Maybe try reading the questions a little slower or 2x through? That’s what I do because if I don’t I make similar mistakes.

So far, I think I’ve only missed one question. But with the curve, I think I’ll still get a 800.

wasn’t it 25 possible entrances/exits to monument? because in parenthesis it said that going to R and coming out through S is different than going to R and coming out through S so wouldn’t there be 5 x 5 combinations?

i mean going to R and coming out through S is different than going to S and coming out through R so wouldn’t there be 5 x 5 combinations?

@freelacer

No

No

No

@thenewmaster

No

5 x 5 would include going through the same path and coming back out the same one, so that’s not right.

I absolutely adore cortana’s reply

omg. i fail at life. i have no words that cannot describe my feelings right now. so far i have a minus 2 in the math. what will be the curve? ffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

It’s such a shame I seemed to be so illiterate that day. I practically fell for every trick in the book. Had I not done that, I would have done reasonably well.

^ I dont know if you did, but i read the newspaper that morning. I was told that it’s good to read something before taking the test to get your mind working and running at its full capacity because you take the test pretty much right after you wake up.

Yep, I’ll have to do something along the lines of that next time. I tend to maintain a much higher level of clarity in the evenings. I’m practically in a zombie in the mornings.

This thread has given me so much doubt! Not only do I not remember what the answers are (since it’s hard to remember numbers as opposed to words), I also now am not sure if I even bubbled in the right answer. I hope I didn’t make so many careless mistakes like I did last time. October 20 is going to be a loooong wait.

“2 where f(x) and g(x) intersect
130 where two lines were perpendicular and two parallel, and you had to find y.
-2”

can SOMEONE PLEASE explain in detail these 3 questions?

aouensoen-- that’s 2 questions.

there was a graph of the functions f(x) and g(x), and it asked where they had the same value (AKA where they intersected).

there were two parallel lines and two perpendicular lines, and it asked us to find a measure of the angle y. it already gave us a value I believe (not the value of y, obvs.)

ok, do you know what value they gave? for the 2 parallel lines and perpendicular lines question

also, what was the question with answer -2? that was my third question…

I don’t recall what value they gave, but I do remember what the picture looked like.

I don’t remember what question had an answer of -2 because -2 was an option for numerous questions but if you look back through the thread you should be able to find it.

I’ve been following this thread from the beginning but couldn’t recall where anyone mentioned -2 either.

If anyone remembers, please share - thank you :)

I sort of remember getting -2. It was an algebra question and i think the answer ended with -1±1= -2 but i could be wrong. does that jog anyone’s memory?
