My daughter is a talented singer/songwriter. She plays the guitar, writes, and sings. We are looking for a college that has a contemporary music program which is not necessarily jazz focused. She immediately gets turned off when she sees that the audition is all jazz focused. It also seems that she sometimes doesn't fit into buckets like guitar performance or voice performance or sometimes even composition. Her grades are not that great, but she has already produced several EPs and can easily show her passion for music and her accomplishments.

Any suggestions would be welcome. She currently has the following schools on her list: Berklee and University of the Arts (Philadelphia) and CalArts. She visited Columbia College of the Arts (didn't like it), the New School (didn't like all of the jazz). Thanks!
