Contrasting pieces for supplementary materials

I'm applying SCEA, and my entire application is based around music. I'm submitting two contrasting marimba pieces and an ensemble composition. I have a fantastic recording of a piano piece but I have no recorded contrasting piece I could submit with it, and I don't have time to prepare another one. I realized I needed a contrasting piece a bit too late... D:

Would it hurt me to submit just the one piano piece along with the other three pieces, or should I just leave it out?

bumpity bump bump

In past years, Yale has been very specific about classical piano submissions – 2 pieces from contrasting periods, maximum 10 minutes, was the requirement several years ago. I don’t know if that has changed, but you should contact the Department of Music to verify. If they’re still saying 2 contrasting pieces then no, you will not help your cause by ignoring the requirement. Leave the piano piece out.

Yes, they seem pretty specific about following requirements. They do go out of their way to explain everything, after all.

Good point. Thanks. Two pieces it is.
