okay not really sure where to post it...but this will give your brain a little workout... it took me like 15 minutes to figure out lol...but once you figure it out its awesomeeeeeee!!!

It took me about 5 minutes. -- "It had taken Dr. Duke well over a year himself, and he would always explain that the smarter you were, the longer it took to figure it out." Ouch. lol :)

i just put in the first number that came into my head and it said "correct!" and i still have no idea how it actually works...ah, if only the SAT was like this

the point of the puzzle isnt to get it correct once, it's that you figure out the pattern and get it right every time...so for people who say i got it right after the first try, that's impossible...

Why is it impossible to get it right after the 1st try? There is a pattern that can be discerned (or guessed) after seeing it only once and paying attention to what the problem is, no?.

Got the first one wrong then the next 5 correct. The clue that "the smarter you were, the longer it took to figure out" makes it too obvious that the solution must be simple.

I said that it was obviously simple, not simply obvious. Without the clue, I might have spent a lot of time considering much more involved solutions. With it, I guessed that exploring the simplest possible solutions first would yield the quickest results. That does not make the solution obvious per se, but it does get you thinking along certain lines.
