I just got an email, but it looks really messedup, and there aren’t any words on it. What the heck?

@DrumMajor - I just got my email at 7:00.

Didn’t get Cornelius Vanderbilt. :(

5pencer: which college did you apply to?

Yeah me neither And I had to freakin’ dig down into the coding to figure out if I did or not. The least they could do is send me an email I can actually READ.

I applied to College of Engineering.

Here’s a funny question for everybody: aside from the $170,000 value of the scholarship, what are the major benefits of the program? Special seminars, housing, advising, early registration, access to research mentors?

has anyone else not heard anything back yet? I applied to a&s

east coast got email around 6pm est did not get either scholarship congrats to those that did.

No CV. got the email around 6pm. oh well!

Got Cornelius to Engineering!

Congrats to those who got the CV scholarship! Those who did not get it - Did your email give general accept/reject status for admission to Vandy?

Is it bad if you still haven’t received an email yet? Are there others who have not gotten any email yet?

I applied for College of Arts and Science, and have still yet to receive an email. I’m in the Midwest by the way!

No. D’s letter just said she didn’t make the cut for the scholarship. Still being considered. Lots of tears in the house tonight. I wasn’t expecting this time to be so heart-wrenching.

Bulldog: That is what I was afraid of. S is blissfully playing a video game. I am not going to remind him to check his email as I can sense there will be much disappointment in our house, too.

What about reference to other merit based scholarship possibilities? Anybody familiar with this as a possibility from previous years?

DS didn’t get either. I thought he had a really good shot for Chancellor. He said he’s ok with it- vanderbilt wasn’t at the top of his list - but I still think he’s disappointed as it is likely a school he won’t consider if paying close to full tuition. I think they give a decent ($5k? ) for NMF , but it’s still a high price school.

Other merit scholarships are usually from private foundations/funds and do not require an applications. There aren’t many. I actually received mine just a few weeks before school started, long after sending my matriculation fee.

Didn’t get it. Disappointing but it’s not the end of the world.

Thanks Pancaked for your response. I thought that was probably the case, but was still holding out hope that some merit aid (even partial) might magically appear given that CV and Chancellors are now off the table for my D–she had already been told that she was accepted into the class of 2016 when she got an invitation to MOSAIC a few weeks ago. The scholarship rejection letter she received made reference to some other merit aid opportunities being a possibility, and that they would notify her if and when that happens, but am guessing it is an extreme long shot. Oh well, like someone else said on this board–I too am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. Congrats to those who got CV and Chancellors–that’s a significant accomplishment!
