Hi guys, I'm really sorry if this question sound retarded, but I'm not too informed. What's the transfer rate for Cornell AEM? I've heard all these 50% transfer friendly stats for Cornell CALS but heard it's a completely different story for AEM. What's are the figures?

I looked at the figures provided by business week and came up with something like this.

682 undergraduate in business program
Assuming all 4 years have the same # of undergrad: 170 per grade
48% of all students were freshamn: 89 students enter business program after freshman year
130 applied for internal transfer, 70% accepted: 79 students accepted as internal transfer

89-79 = only 10 students accept from external transfer!!

I did not know the AEM figures so I did the above and got a result I did not want to see. Is that true? Please help and give me some numbers. I really want to attend Cornell AEM and is now really really worried. Hopefully I am wrong, way off.

there are stats available for external transfers to AEM somewhere on the site and it is much more that 10. Unfortunately they don't tell you how many applied so it's hard to have any real measure of the admission rates.

Most people guesstimate it's in the high teens, and I would have to say that is probably fairly accurate.

If it is any consolation it seems that those that are truly interested in the major and Cornell seem to get in, as long as they have the requisite grades and I'm assuming a great essay and reason for transfer. At least that's what I seemed to see on CC here.

Again, not by any means a guarantee but I'm hoping that the fact that I am really excited about the AEM major and the school in general will get me in. It seems to me that they can smell the kids who apply just because of the Ivy name and high CALS admission rate from a mile away; and I would say the majority of people I've seen fit that bill.
