<p>I don't think CAS selects students based on their prospective major. It's what you do to demonstrate that you're into it and that you've got the potential that matters.</p>
<p>Hmm, does that mean the anticipated major I put down on my application has nothing to do with the "real major" I will be pursuing in university years?</p>
<p>Theodred-that's right. The major you put down is only a sort of gauge of interest. They let you change your anticipated major over the summer, and you don't actually apply to be accepted into a major field until after your first or second year.</p>
<p>That said, I think they do consider your major interest on your application. For instance, I think it helped that I wrote about physics as my interest, because there aren't many women in the sciences.</p>
