@cricketfan thanks so much for clarifying! I applied as a sophomore transfer so I’d be class of 2020 with (presumably) all of you. But I’ll definitely check that thread out for any updated info.
Any cals still waiting on their decision? I am getting bit worried that i feel like im the only few left…
@lacuco20 are you a GT and did you meet all the requirements
For those who received their aid packages - were you offered anything? If so, could you be specific in what you offered? (Even if it was a loan/work study). Also, would you mind sharing whatever you feel comfortable with about your family’s income range? I’m still waiting anxiously for mine but would like to have some idea of what eligibility I have.
I have not met the GPA requirement
I still haven’t heard back about FinAid. What should I do?
i was accepted on the 18th (ILR) and got financial aid on the 24th. they send you an email to check online
Any CALS still waiting on a decision?
@transfer1720 have you heard yet??
I was given a GT for next year. I am wondering what writing seminar did you take to fulfill the ILR credit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
@Pugslife - They will accept ‘AP Lang and Composition’ for the Writing TO requirement. If you have not taken that AP then look for an English class at your college which requires writing (e.g. Critical Thinking and Writing).
Send it’s description to Ian and get it approved.
@sammy2324 Still waiting on mine.
Is there a possibility of admissions decisions rescinded just like as a senior in high school? I don’t want to cancel my future plans at my current college if there’s the possibility that Cornell might not want me anymore.
Yeah, they can rescind your application. If you had any midterm grades below a B, they ask you to resend an updated grade. Also if you don’t meet any of the other requirements, they’ll prob reconsider your application.
@aihcxx @igaspard were either of you offered anything in your financial aid packages? If so, could you be specific in what you were offered? (Even if it was just a loan/work study). Also, would you mind sharing whatever you feel comfortable with about your family’s income range? I’m still waiting anxiously for mine but would like to have some idea of what eligibility I have.
@jacbellini I got nothing, have the option to take out a $5,000 loan (pretty sure that every school gives that to everyone who applies through FAFSA) but it’s not worth it with the interest rate for such a relatively small amount of money. My family’s income range is too high for most need-based financial aid, but I was hoping that my parents’ recent divorce and the fact that our financial priorities have shifted a lot in the past year (sold our house, moved, both parents are paying monthly rent on separate homes, sister’s private school tuition increased) would be taken into account. Guess not. Hoping to get something next year once my sister enters college and our tax returns accurately reflect our finances.
@jacbellini im I’m the same boat I got nothing, but was expecting at least like $1000 or less. My parents make too much for need based but we’re from New York I feel like financial aid doesn’t take cost of living in diff places into consideration
When do have to send in our final transcript by?
@nomnomsj ASAP once your final grades are recorded on it. For me that was a week ago, for you it might not be for another few weeks. I think the hard deadline is August 1st.
Just got in! How long is it taking for everyone’s financial aid
