Cornell Colleges

which is the hardest school in cornell to get into.

in terms of what and based on what qualifications. someone with no social skills will never get into hotel and someone with no art skills will never get into AAP. someone with no science background will never get into engineering.

if you're looking for acceptance rate, that's another story, but the specific nature of cornell's college's makes comparing one to another in terms of admissions rate pointless.

In terms of acceptance rates, hotel is the hardest. That said, sparticus is right...it really just depends on what kind of a background you have. For any one person, hotel may be the easiest to get into, but as a whole they accept the smallest percentage.

i thought it was AAP with 21%

http://dpb.cornell.edu/irp/pdf/FactBook/Admissions/Undergraduate/Freshmen/bycoll.pdf it's all there

Based on numbers alone, AAP is the most selective, followed by CAS, trailing by .0028011359%.

AAP class rank and SAT scores are well below several other schools, including CAS, Engineering, CALS, ILR and HE. So, while it has the lowest acceptance rate, I would not say it is the most difficult to get into.

there was another thread on this not long ago, look it up as people (like myself) get tired of the same old discussions on selectivity between the colleges at Cornell.

Gomestar, call 911 to let the police know you are being forced to read, AND RESPOND TO, threads you have know interest in. ;)

As you can see, the person asking the question has only 2 posts. Give the new kids a break. Maybe you could tell him/her how to look it up.

know = no ...

i'm suggesting they do a search on the topic since i'm too lazy to give another detailed answer with statistics and everything (as i did on the previous thread).

also, i've never done a search myself so i couldn't tell ya how. I just know that the function exists.

search is at the top right

"search this thread"

just because you have a higher SAT score doesn't mean it's easier for you to get into college. the AAP rarely looks at SAT scores because talent and success in the AAP aren't reflected through the SAT's. those who get into AAP are very talented and motivated, since the selectivity rate is so low.

there are many ppl who do well in engineering or CAS who would die in AAP.
and vice versa. it's about what you're good at.

the reason why AAP is so selective is because

1) architecture is popular
2) AAP can only accept a limited number of students (they decreased the number this year even more due to the new graduate program they just created)
3) Architecture students require a lot of individual attention for their training so they can't accept so many ppl

AAP is so selective because of....

architecture.

I think art is the easiest major to be accepted into at Cornell. I'll have to jumble some numbers in order to find the true acceptance rate, but i think it's around 40%.
