Hi guys! I recently just fell in love with Cornell (senior right now) and I have no idea how I stack up in the early pool… I heard it was much more competitive than regular but at my school, the stats are very skewed

School Profile: one of the best public schools in the state, very very competitive
Act: 33
Sat II: US History 750, taking lit this october
GPA: UW 3.7 (a huge upward trend), Weighted: 4.68/5.2
No rank at school but top 10-15%
APs: US History 5, Gov 5, Comp Gov 4, Environmental Science 4, Lang 5, Psych 5, World 4
Taking 4 aps this year, will have taken 11 by graduation

Teacher recs are 10/10, one of the best ones my teacher said he has ever written
common app is pretty good probs 8/10
Cornell supplement is in the works and will mostly likely be great (i’m a good writer)

You seem like a pretty normal applicant. You have solid grades and good positions in your extracurriculars.

I think you might have a pretty good chance if you “stood out” a bit more in your essays.

Your gpa might be a problem and your ECs don’t really make you stand out. Nevertheless, write some killer essays and hope for the best. I’ve seen some kids with your profile get in so maybe you have what it takes! Good luck with everything.
