Cornell hotel worth it?

<p>okay, i feel a bit happier with hotel school now. Anyone know where a kid can get some experience in nyc? i contacted over 50 hotels already</p>

<p>One of the most common misconceptions that young students seem to have is that having a ‘business’ or ‘econ’ degree would qualify them for a high paying job. It is simply not true at all.</p>

<p>Business degrees are dime a dozen. Actually, it is the most common bachelor’s degree in the country. Many of kids I knew from my high school who majored in business at large State colleges are now doing real estate sales, bonds sales, or selling insurance. </p>

<p>Same deal with MBA. MBA programs outside top 15 or so are almost useless nowadays.</p>

<p>What matters for getting an elite job out of college is not the fact that you have a ‘business’ major on your resume. What really matters is a combination of many things, including the school you attend.</p>

<p>Thanks for the response but I already knew that, which is why I kept emphasizing Cornell’s ivy status</p>
